Payroll Expert spec

1. 10 years solid payroll experience (as a bear minimum)

2. proven record of setting up teams of payroll from scratch

3. proven record of payroll successfully run on behalf of various clients (with different characteristics)

4. a formal payroll qualification

5. a troubleshooter (solutions provider for the teams and the clients)

6. excellent communications skills - client oriented

salary: £50k plus bonus

Details of the role:

• Responsibility for weekly and monthly payroll
• Processing time-sheets on a daily and weekly basis
• Dealing with high volumes of starters and leavers
• RTI calculations
• Helping to resolve queries on a daily basis
• Calculations of holiday, sickness, maternity and pension
• Process payroll deductions: SMP, SSP , CCV, CTW, Car Park etc
• Process HMRC amendments.
• Reconcile payroll reports for BACS payments
• Setting up brand new company payrolls from scratch
• Prepare import and export various data from csv files.

The ideal candidate for this position must also have the following experience:

- Exposure to auto-enrolment and pension management through payroll
- Experience calculating pensions
- Experience with RTI calculations
- Good mathematical and IT skills
- Good spoken and written communication skills
- Logical thinking and problem-solving ability
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Sage Payroll and Iris ideally
- Knowledge of payroll legislation
