Information Governance Officer
Prescot, Merseyside
Salary £23,000, Band I
37.5 hours

As part of AFG's major transformation programme, we are looking to recruit an Information Governance Officer to lead on information governance for AFG as well as develop the framework and systems to manage information to include those related to "person based"/care records. You will provide professional advice across the organisation on all matters relating to the creation, storage, use and security of records, ensuring AFG meets all of its compliance and legal obligations regarding information use and security.

Required Skills & Experience

Educated to degree level with a comprehensive understanding of information security management along with a minimum of 12 months experience of information governance/record management or holding a MARM qualification is essential. Working within the field of Health and Social Care, candidates will need an understanding of working with key health related legislation and standards. An in depth awareness of the Data Protection Act, ICO and CQC requirements along with related governance legislation and processes is a must together with the ability to implement those across the organisation. A familiarity with the NHS IG Toolkit would be an advantage, although not a requirement.

You will be a confident and positive communicator with the ability to effectively influence others at all levels. You will have excellent organisational skills, be self-motivated with the drive and enthusiasm to work effectively. A natural team player with a customer focus emphasis along with attention to detail and a methodical approach are a must.
