Research Consultant (Internship, developing into full-time role after 3 months)

CoreData Research is a research consultancy to the asset management and broader financial services industry. We are a growing business, and focus our energies on developing research solutions that help businesses grow in an environment that is constantly changing. We are looking for a proactive individual with a proven statistical and research background to join our team in London.

This Research Consultant role would best suit an individual with a solid analytical focus and strong writing skills – you must be interested in and proficient in statistical methods and practiced in implementing these approaches. You may be a recent graduate with a background in economics/ statistics/ business/ finance disciplines.

You will work alongside senior researchers in the business to produce thoughtful and insightful research reports. A passion for research is a must, and demonstrated knowledge of how to conduct research will be a distinct advantage.

Key responsibilities include conducting customised quantitative and qualitative research studies including project set up, project management, research design and methodology, analysis, reporting and presentations.

Desired skills and experience

• Undergraduate degree in economics/business/finance disciplines
• A master’s degree preferably
• Proficient in statistical methodologies
• A keen interest in and learning more about the investment management industry
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Sound understanding of market research qualitative and quantitative principles and methodologies
• Strong numeracy skills
• Proficient with SPSS

Primary tasks

• Design appropriate parameters of research for client projects (sample requirements, etc.)
• Interpret statistical information gathered from market research
• Research, identify, and filter data for analysis
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data from surveys and secondary data sources to produce key insights supporting research objectives
• Prepare reports of research findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text
• Develop research products for financial clients from inception to completion, when required

Secondary tasks

• Conceptual development of white papers and other research papers to promote CoreData in the market and within the media.
• Assisting with database management/development, when required.
• Assisting in the preparation of proposals and pitching material, when required.
