Catering Assistant
20 hours per week
Permanent


We have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join us at our Harrogate college site. This is a part time role where the working hours are to be flexible over the cafes opening hours, including holiday and sick cover when required.

As a catering assistant you will work individually and also as part of a team, preparing, cooking and serving foods and beverages to an agreed standard.

You will be required to setup and clear away the server counter, clean and operate appropriate equipment for completing cleaning tasks, in service, preparation and dining area. Handle cash, operate cash registers and complete cashing up procedures as required. Maintain temperature monitoring records for hot & cold foods in service and storage areas, in accordance with procedures and legal standards. Be involved in all aspects of stock control including ordering checking in, putting away, and rotating stock deliveries. Clean and fill vending machines and other display units as necessary. Maintain good customer relations and customer care.

We are looking for someone who has Food Safety Level 2. Who will ensure high standards of personal hygiene & cleanliness, ensuring catering hygiene practices are followed at all times in accordance with Food Service Policy, and written/verbal instructions.
Candidates with experience of working in a busy catering environment are desired as are those with Food Safety Level 3, but this is not essential. What is important is that you are passionate about delivering a first grade service and have excellent communication and team working skills.
